Stalosan F

I have always used Stalosan F for my chickens, but have only just become aware of its benefits for horses – particularly in controlling mud fever.

Irritation to airways from ammonia and sulphur gases in the stable are known to have a serious adverse effect on performance (although they are not a problem in stables if you use Megazorb!) Stalosan is the answer. Its proven activity against bacteria, fungi, viruses, protozoa, worm eggs and parasitic larvae, coupled with a remarkable ability to absorb moisture, ammonia and sulphur gases makes it such an effective, economical weapon in preventing infection and disease.

Stalosan is entirely reliable, dispensed as a pink powder that is versatile and simple to use, and it should be viewed as part of an overall hygiene system for stables, horse boxes and yards with no risk at all of harming the horses, riders, or of the environment. Applied in a dry form to stable floor and bedding twice weekly, it creates an ongoing process of protection 24 hours a day. Stalosan F has been established and proven in Europe for over 41 years. It is a natural product, based upon synergism, where two or more ingredients reinforce the effect of the others, resulting in a unique, entirely safe product with no side effects at all.

Stalosan is active in killing a wide range of key pathogens and controlling micro-organisms including those which cause; EHV 1-4, CEM, Equine VD, Strangles, Ringworm, Thrush, Mud Fever, COPD, Joint III, Rain Scald. Thorough product testing has been carried out on Stalosan over many years. Data from independent laboratories all over the world reinforce its proven effectiveness against bacteria, fungi, fly larvae, coccidian and ammonia. It contains no aggressive disinfectants such as chlorine, phenol, sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide.

Stalosan F is also suitable for the use with laying hens, broilers, turkeys, pigeons and pheasants. It is effective against micro-organisms that cause high mortality like coccidiosis and vira infections such as Newcastle Disease. Stalosan F also reduces high ammonia levels, parasites and fly larvae.

Spread Stalosan F all over the existing bedding especially onto wet and damp areas. When new, chicks or hens are entering, spread Stalosan F all over before placement. You can also apply it to brooder pens, nests and around feeders and drinkers.

The application rate is always 50g per m2 and normal application is once a week. Where problems exist, twice weekly application is recommended.
